Ecclesall Road is one of the prime shopping and leisure destinations in Sheffield and is well stocked with popular pubs & bars, quirky cafés and takeaways to suit all tastes, which include Dominos, Nandos, Uncle Sam’s, Subway, Taco Bell, KFC, Costa, Nonnas, Café Nero, Weatherspoons and the Nursery Tavern, to name but a few. During university term times, Ecclesall Road, from Hunters Bar to the edge of the city centre, is buzzing with students, as many choose to live along its route running just south of the city.
Ecclesall Road is particularly convenient for students at Sheffield Hallam University. SHU's Collegiate Campus is on the road itself, while the numerous bus services mean that you'll not have to wait long before one comes along to get you into town. The buses do, however, get pretty busy at peak times!

There's shopping on Ecclesall Road to fit all budgets, from numerous well-stocked charity shops through to high end boutique retailers. You'll also find small branches of Sainsbury's, Tesco, Boots and Marks & Spencer along the way.

When it all gets too much, find time to kick back in the splendid Victorian era Botanical Gardens, home to both formal and wild gardens, impressive glass pavilions and some 5,000 species of plants (trust us, we counted), all set in nearly 20 acres of green space. What's not to love about that?

Capland has several excellent student houses along Ecclesall Road which are very sought after, so be sure to book an early viewing if you want to live along Eccy Road, as it's known locally!
